What is an End-of-Life Doula?
An End-of-Life Doula is a non-medical support person who provides emotional, spiritual, practical, and educational guidance to individuals and families during the final phase of life. I offer presence, planning support, legacy work, rituals, and comfort measures to make the transition more peaceful and intentional.
Can you assist with planning ahead?
Absolutely. I offer end-of-life planning, logistical support, and death nesting consultations, which help organize documents, preferences, checklists, and ceremony wishes so individuals and families feel informed and prepared.
How do your services work?
We begin with a consultation to discuss your needs. From there, I create a personalized plan that may include visits, planning support, vigil care, herbal comforts, green burial education, rituals, or family guidance.
How do you charge?
Services are offered as packages or hourly, depending on what is needed. I accept cash or money order upon arrival or before services. Please inquire during your consultation if other payment options are needed.
Do you provide medical care?
No. I do not replace doctors, nurses, or hospice staff. I provide non-medical, emotional, spiritual, and practical support, including planning, legacy projects, rituals, herbal comfort measures, and family guidance.
How is a doula different from hospice?
Hospice focuses on medical comfort and symptom management. A doula complements hospice by offering continued presence, emotional support, education, and holistic care that hospice teams often don’t have the time or capacity to provide. We work alongside hospice—not in place of it.
What is “conscious death care”?
Conscious death care is an intentional approach to dying—honoring the emotional, spiritual, and environmental aspects of the transition. This includes mindfulness-based support, meaningful rituals, creating a peaceful environment, honest conversations, and helping families make choices aligned with their values.
Do you offer herbal or aromatherapy support?
Yes. With four years of study in herbalism and plant medicine, I offer gentle herbal supports such as teas, aromatherapy, and earth-based practices that promote comfort, grounding, and emotional ease. These are non-medical and fully optional.
Can you be there at the time of death?
Yes, when requested. I provide vigil support, offering continuous presence, guidance, comfort measures, and emotional steadiness so families do not have to navigate the final moments alone.
How far in advance should I contact you?
You can reach out at any stage—whether you’re planning ahead, newly on hospice, or already in the active dying phase. The sooner we connect, the more meaningful support I can provide.
Do you work with all belief systems?
Yes. My care is non-denominational, inclusive, and centered on what matters most to the individual and their family.
Do I need hospice to work with you?
Not at all. I support individuals receiving hospice care, medical care at home, or those who simply want to plan ahead for a meaningful and conscious transition.
Can you support home deaths?
Yes. I help families prepare for and navigate home deaths with education, reassurance, environment-setting, ritual creation, and presence.
